| IF INTERESTED IN DANCING ON POINTE - PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW: **Dancers who take pre-pointe have teacher recommendation and must also have a minimum of 3 other ballet classes (at least 3 days) during the week.*must maintain good attendance. **Dancers who dance on pointe must also have a minumum of 3 other ballet classes (at least 3 days) during the week* must maintain good attendance. (students may count ballet classes at other schools as long as the student is progressing the way they should- will be determined by Mr. Caston) ***Our Academie follows these guidelines regarding point to: - help ensure the success of their dancers -as well as INJURY PREVENTION!! **POINTE WORK IS FUN BUT. . . - if started to early can injure a young child's growing body (must be at least 11 years of age) - if not properly trained can damage feet for life!!! -shoes worn properly should not cause feet problems (Mr/Mrs Caston personally assist with first fittings) -above all takes a lot of desire, dedication, and determination, it is not easy, but it is definitely wonderful and very rewarding!! |
| CASTON CHAMBER BALLET COMPANY 2011/2012 Artists in Residence Company Apprentices * Trainees ** Caston Ballet Academie School Company Program affiliated with Caston Chamber Ballet Company Junior Company *** Dance Club *Caston Chamber Ballet Company thru Junior Associates have open audition or ***set up private audition with Artistic Director Torris Caston* or Ballet Mistress Shannon Caston *Open Audition Sunday Aug 28 * *Dancers may perform in all performances throughout the year, however that is not required * Dancers may be asked to join/audtion at any time throughout the year -as each individual progresses at different rates *Dancers progress on an individual basis (not by "group") If there are ever any questions about the above information or what one needs to do to be promoted please feel free to call, e-mail or ask the Mr. or Mrs. Caston we want all of our dancers to be happy and as successful as they desire! **NEW ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE*** PROGRAM -Professional Level Dancers - Soloists COMPANY- Very Strong Dancers Soloists as well as corps dances, must maintain good class attendance and make the designated rehearsals outside of class time. May or May not perform pointe work on stage Intermediate/Adv Ages 18 and up (Out of High School) APPRENTICE* - Very Strong Dancers Soloists as well as corps dances are (4 days or more a week) must maintain good class attendance, and make the designated rehearsals outside of class time. May or May not perform pointe work on stage Intermediate/Adv (students may count ballet classes at other schools as long as the dancer is progressing the way they should- will be determined by Mr. Caston) Ages 15 and up (High school - and up) TRAINEE**- Strong Dancers Pre-Pointe & Pointe dancers are Intermediate Ballet and take ballet classes (4 days or more a week) must maintain good class attendance, and make the designated rehearsals outside of class time. May or May not perform Pointe Work on Stage Ages 12 and up (Middle School- and up) =================================== JUNIOR COMPANY- Intermediate level and up, Pre-Pointe and New Pointe Dancers - take classes at least 3 days a week must maintain good class attendance,and make the designated rehearsals outside of class time. Have performed in at least 4 Performances. Dancers may or may not perform pointe work on stage. (Will be determined by Mr. & Mrs. Caston) Ages 12- 14 ( Middle School) JUNIOR ASSOCIATES- Beg/Intermediate level and up, take classes at least 3 days a week must maintain good class attendance, do their dance homework and make the designated rehearsal outside of class time. Have performed in at least 2 of the Performances. Ages 8 -11 (Grade School) DANCE CLUB- take 2 or more classes a week (or 3 full years of classes 1 time a week), have good class attendance and do their dance homework .Young dancers that have performed in at least 2 Performances. Activities ranging from going to live performances, ballet movie nights, and special Ballet Club Party & CBA Fundraisers (ie Parent's Night Out!) Ages 7 and up (1st grade - and up) DANCE II and up BALLET SCOUTS - LOTS OF FUN!! Ballet dancers ages 10 and up who help make things for the CCB Company - by cuting, gluing, sewing, etc.. Costumes, Sets, Newsletters, Photography, Advertising, Volunteer works, help at CCB pre and post events...etc!! Meets at least 2 times a month- and participate in ballet club & CBA party fundraisers Ages 11 and up |
